Fertigation Technician

Position Summary
The Fertigation Technician works in conjunction with the Fertigation Supervisor to oversee and execute all irrigation and fertigation activities across the entire cultivation facility. This role ensures accurate nutrient mixing, system functionality, and crop hydration while maintaining strict compliance with company SOPs and state regulations.
The Fertigation Technician may also assist Cultivation Technicians in the garden as operational needs require.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Check and balance EC and pH levels of stock tanks according to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Clean and sanitize nutrient tanks, pumps, filters, and related equipment as needed
Maintain and ensure irrigation and fertigation systems are in proper working order
Install, maintain, and repair general irrigation components including valves, emitters, drip stakes, drip tubing, and bench lines
Monitor soil moisture levels and obtain water samples for testing and analysis
Take nutrient solution samples and prepare them for laboratory analysis
Maintain accurate and meticulous records of nutrient usage and irrigation activity
Ensure fertilizer concentrate tanks are filled appropriately and inventory levels are maintained
Maintain inventory of all fertilizers and fertigation supplies on site
Respond to system alarms promptly and diagnose/troubleshoot issues efficiently
Perform routine calibration of nutrient testing instruments and meters
Maintain sanitation and proper storage of tools and equipment including pumps, hoses, carts, vacuums, scissors, totes, PPE, and related materials
Work closely with the cultivation team to ensure irrigation plans are properly implemented and adjusted as needed
Comply with all company policies, state regulations, and product label safety procedures
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
Qualifications
Must be 21 years of age or older
High School Diploma or GED required
Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
Must be able to work weekends, holidays, emergency shifts, and overtime as required
Degree in Horticulture, Plant Science, or related field preferred
Basic knowledge of irrigation systems and hydroponic solution formulation preferred
High level of accountability and attention to detail
Team-oriented with a strong work ethic
Ability to understand and follow all company and state compliance regulations
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Physical Requirements
Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and reaching
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks daily
Extended use of hands, arms, and fingers for manipulating small components
Close visual focus required
Must be able to pass a respirator fit test
Work Environment
Required daily use of PPE including masks, hair nets, beard covers, boot covers, scrubs, non-slip shoes
